This audio extravaganza features comments on "The Roaring Silence," a book on John Cage, the composer by David Revill. Cage was known for experimenting with prepared pianos, ambient sound and silence.

"No silence exists that is pregnant with sound."
"I'm losing my ablity to make connections because the ones I make so belittle the natural complexity."

We also mention some quotes from "Voices" by Antonio Porchia and share a small journal reading.

Thanks for listening.

Peace.

It took awhile to get this one up. Dancing with proxies and assorted technical gremlins. This little audio suggests playing chess at www.uchess.com where you play people of all levels and time.

We also mention the joys of relaxing with a 2-hour full body massage for 16 bones. Where they walk on your back and clean your ears. Do I have a hearing problem or a listening problem? Maybe MK 29 will clean your ears.

"Writers On Steroids," is a short satirical look at the playful art under political scrutiny.

Thanks for listening.
Peace.

MK 26 is up, linked through the iWeb site, Abracadabra with the speed of cicadas singing in dense forest groove groves.

We talk about beginning the new term, how Juniors have 34 hours of class. We greet writers, do the basic flexible intros and mention new writing opportunities. How it's experiential learning vs. academic in tone and focus.

We share a small story, "Hope & Exile."
Thanks for your patience and listening.

Peace.

Wow, new headphones for MK creativity! Bought them from a teacher leaving for Edinburgh, Scotland to do her Master's. School's out for summer. Teachers head home or travel China and Tibet.

Whoops! I miss-spoke saying 27,000 people a day fly to Tibet from Chengdu. The actual number is closer to 3,000 a day or 90,000 a month. Other teachers prepare for new jobs in China and abroad. I'll attend the TEFL course in Zhuhai from 3-28 July, travel in delicious August heat and teach here this fall.

MK 24 also contains info on the Kandinsky abstract art exhibit in London. There's a link in the 17th June blog slog FYI. He could see sounds and hear colors. Just like us.

Thanks for listening.

Peace.

Carpe Diem! Seize the day is the theme in English class. Nourish your creativity. Practice courage and kindness. Poetry, beauty, romance and love.

"Most men live lives of quiet desperation," said Thoreau.

We tend a secret rose garden behind our classroom on old campus. We share "A Responsibility to the Thorns," a memoir excerpt.

It's in MK 21. Enjoy and peace.
